Service Description
Known as the “World’s Wildlife Capital,” Nairobi National Park offers a truly unique safari experience just minutes from the city’s center. Set against a striking backdrop of Nairobi’s skyline, wide open grass plains and scattered acacia bushlands are home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including endangered black rhinos, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffalo, giraffes, and over 400 species of birds. It’s one of the few places in the world where you can witness wild animals roaming freely with a modern city in the distance. Established in 1946, Nairobi National Park is Kenya’s oldest national park and remains one of its most accessible. Despite its proximity to the capital, it preserves a landscape that reflects Kenya’s natural state before urban development. Covering 117 square kilometers, the park features classic savannah scenery with open plains, riverine forests, and the Embakasi River flowing through it, supporting a rich ecosystem of wildlife. The park is particularly renowned for its successful black rhino sanctuary, making it one of the best places to see these endangered animals in their natural habitat. While elephants are not found here, visitors can spot four of the Big Five—lions, leopards, buffalo, and rhinos—alongside zebras, wildebeest, elands, ostriches, and more. During certain seasons, the park also becomes part of the wildebeest migration route, adding to its dynamic wildlife experience. Beyond game drives, Nairobi National Park offers walking trails, picnic sites, and excellent birdwatching opportunities. Its accessibility makes it ideal for both short visits and immersive day safaris, allowing travelers to experience Kenya’s wildlife without venturing far from the city. It’s a rare and memorable destination where nature and urban life exist side by side, creating a safari experience unlike any other.
