Service Description

Lake Bogoria – Lake Baringo Safari Set within Kenya’s dramatic Rift Valley, the journey through Lake Bogoria and Lake Baringo offers a striking contrast of landscapes, ecosystems, and natural wonders. It is a region where geothermal energy, birdlife, and freshwater habitats come together to create a truly unique safari experience. Lake Bogoria National Park is centered around its namesake alkaline lake, a place of raw, elemental beauty. With no visible outlet, the lake’s mineral-rich waters support one of the largest concentrations of lesser flamingos in the world, often painting the shoreline in soft shades of pink. The western edge of the lake is alive with geothermal activity, where more than 120 geysers and hot springs erupt from the earth, sending plumes of steam into the air. Reaching temperatures of up to 94°C, these natural features create an almost otherworldly atmosphere—one that has long been regarded as both powerful and restorative, earning the area its reputation as a “healing place.” In contrast, nearby Lake Baringo offers a completely different environment. As one of Kenya’s few freshwater lakes, it supports a rich diversity of wildlife and bird species. Its calm waters are home to hippos and large populations of crocodiles, while the surrounding acacia woodlands attract a wide variety of birds, making it a haven for birdwatchers. Scattered across the lake are small islands, including Ol Kokwe, which rise gently from the water and provide stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. These islands, combined with the quiet rhythm of the lake, create a peaceful and reflective atmosphere. Together, Lake Bogoria and Lake Baringo form a journey of contrast and discovery—where fire and water, heat and calm, come together in one of Kenya’s most fascinating and lesser-explored regions.
